The group was originally formed in 1913 and has always been based in same location in Leigh.
The Group is a growing youth movement within the village and is a major part of the local community within the village. Many of the boys & girls attend the local primary and secondary schools.
All the young people come from the local community and contribute to the village events, including the Leigh Superstars event, Remembrance day service as well as organising community events.
The group is a registered charity (No 296995) and is totally funded by contributions from parents, from fundraising and local companies & charitable trusts.
There is currently 2 sections at 7th Tonbridge, this is the Beaver Scout Colony, and Cub Pack however, we are looking to re-open our Scout Troop. All of the sections are fully mixed, all welcoming girls and boys, providing a wide ranging programme of activities for boys and girls from the ages of 6 to 14.
7th Tonbridge has a dedicated leadership team, some of which were young members of 7th Tonbridge themselves, the whole team are committed to providing skills for life to the young people of the community, in addition to that they have a vision of expanding the groups to their full potential with the help from the young people and parents and re-storing the former glory of 7th Tonbridge Scouts.

The leadership team are all volunteers. They have all been trained to the award winning Scout Association standards, and have all completed DBS vetting, and work tirelessly to provide a balanced programme of activities for all of the members of the group.
We also strive to enhance the scouting experience for all of our members by participating in competitions & events organised by the District, and Nights Away experiences, both locally and internationally.
